What is the difference between lack of faith and unbelief

This is true for the simple reason that God has chosen to keep many secrets. We know in part, and that is why we walk by faith and not by sight. Faith lives with unanswered questions. But if you had all the answers, then you would have no need of faith. Faith will be turned to sight, and we will behold him! Until then, we will have faith with questions, and that will be a normal experience of the Christian life.

Doubt is not the absence of faith; doubt is the questioning of faith. You can only doubt what you already believe. When a Christian doubts, he fears God may not exist.

The Christian believes there is a God, and when he doubts, he questions what he believes. We always have faith, but we must always battle unbelief. There has to be a strengthening of one and a purging of the other if we are to see the power of Jesus manifest in our lives and manifest through our prayers for others.

That is what Jesus was teaching the disciples. While that sounds good, it is not scriptural. The Bible tells us how our faith will grow and it is not through prayer and fasting. Spending time in prayer will benefit you in countless ways. We pray and plead with God, begging him to give us more faith. The good news is that we can change our unbelief into belief.

We just need to become more fully persuaded of the truth instead of the misconceptions and lies that we are currently holding on to. The more we expose our minds to the truth, the more we become persuaded and convinced of that truth.

And the best way to expose our minds to the truth is to study the Bible. The more time we spend exploring the truth of the Bible, the more our minds become convinced of that truth. Do you want more faith?
