Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. There is no "debate" about whether these files should be removed. In reply to Malkeleah's post on June 13, I just wanted to exert caution, as if the user ever had any problems with updates then they could delete them easily, but thanks for your comments.

On many of my clients' machines the hotfix uninstallers go back for years, many of them predating the installed Service Packs. I see no problem deleting those. As for the log file, I have no idea to which log file the OP is referring so can't answer that. Since he didn't tell us what the problem is that the log is involved with, I didn't address it.

Again, I should have been more precise and asked the OP to explain what problem he was trying to solve. And I agree with you about CCleaner. I personally feel that this is a bit too much and decided to delete those folders. I really can't think of a situation why I wanted to uninstall a Microsoft update that I installed a while ago.
