All this publication's reviews Read full review. Tales of Vesperia is one of my favorite Tales games and one of my favorite games from the last generation. While Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition could have benefitted from some quality of life improvements found in newer Tales games, the remastered version still holds up as one of the best Tales games available. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is a must-have for fans of the original release due to its new characters and is a great entry point for anyone new to the Tales series as well.
IGN Italia. A nice rehearsal of the best "Tales of" chapter. Very nice if it's the first time you play it, superfluous if you already played the original version. Worth Playing. It has its flaws and foibles, including a relative weak final story arc and a somewhat inconsistent battle system, but it's one of the most popular Tales titles for a reason. It's plenty of fun to play, and fans of JRPGs will easily overlook the flaws for what is a genuinely enjoyable romp through an old game style. Similarly if you are a Tales fanatic, all of the DLC bits and bobs are included in the package.

It feel SO GOOD to finally have a lot of costumes to unlock, finally a lots of sidequest to find out when you replay, finally a lots of optional content and bosses. I feel like this game gave me everything I wanted "more of" tales of symphonia.
The characters are overall pretty good, Yuri put a great dynamic with the team and each character feel very distinct. Battle Wise the game is more clunky in first few hours than most tales of, but open up much more in the end, which gives a fantastic sense of progression through the game and in the challenge keeps up, to max level in the endgame challenges.
Add to that 9 playable characters and you have the most diverse cast and a lot to learn if you want to vary your play style. Originally posted by Shogil :.
This is one of the few tales games worth buying because of the Battle System, it's a great challenge as long as you don't overlevel like a madman. Yuri and Judith are the only characters i liked. Tales of the Abyss was great too in the combat department. They have been dropping the ball there so this is actually refreshing. Nevertheless, i'm never touching it if it comes with Denuvo Cancer. And no, you are not making us a favor. I'll give praise where is due. Oh yeah, i didn't forget you screwed that Tales of Symphonia port like no other.

I had played around 3h of Tales of Symphonia and must say it's very frustration. I kept farming creatures on the first path of the game for mostly all this time, I lvled my party a few lvls and it's extremely grindy. I understand the game was meant for me to dodge those creatures and move on, but still I was scared how strong they were.
I was making a unique fight and almost dying - many times I actually did -, and ran back to town where an NPC would heal my party, a bonus I suppose no other town will have.
I just didn't like how all characters look like adolescents and main chars looked boring and not caring. All this just got me bored and I gave up on the game. I wonder if Vesperia is somehow different, as I don't wanna risk buying it to have the same disappointment.

You can dress your crew in a variety of crazy outfits in this version of the game. Is that Klonoa?! Even the best of friends are wont to clash swords once in a while.
